Hi, I'm "Troutflyrod".
I am very fortunate to fish some of the finest trout streams, and to walk in giants footsteps, at places such as the historic Upper Itchen.
I fish a lot and have enjoyed a good season learning a lot, especially fly design and presentation.
I am currently looking to round off the year with a Lunker Grayling before starting salmon fishing on 1st February.
I talk the talk and walk the walk. Most of my flies are unique to myself and they work. I don't give them pretentious names I just fish them. I don't, unlike some, go round trumping about creating new tying techniques when in fact they were invented a century ago.
My fly caught personal bests are:
Atlantic Salmon (England) 20 pounds
Brown Trout 9 pounds
Rainbow Trout 14 pounds 4 ounces
Grayling 2 pounds 8 ounces

I am going to be passing on tips here too. I observe fish at close quarters and learn a lot, and the first tip is that fish learn very fast. If one could be bothered, changing the fly every fourth cast would reap huge rewards.
