  Wimborne Fly-Fishers
  Club History

The club was founded in 2002 by 3 wise old men, Tony Clyde, Derek Burton and Dave Denham.

These men were passionate fly dressers and keen members of the Fly Dressers Guild. As members of the Ringwood branch the gentlemen decided to spread the wealth of their knowledge with those not able to make the journey.

Deciding to set up the club saw life start in Blandford using the Moose Hall as a venue for 2 years. Tony then found and relocated to our current home the Cobham Sports and Social Club Wimborne.

Over 35 members turned out for the first meeting and the rest as they say is history.

The club remains as strong today with over 40 members. The club meets regularly on a Tuesday evening providing a fantastic social environment for all levels of fly dressing.

The hard work of the committee ensures the club has a full and structured programme for all.

Interested in fly tying why not join us.
