Welcome to the new Orchard Trails website. Since 1997 Orchard Trails has offered walking and cycling holidays in the renowned beauty of the Kent and neighbouring East Sussex countryside with its pretty villages and ancient towns and ports.
Whether you come on a short break or for a longer holiday you will find plenty to do and see. There is over 250 miles of picturesque and varied coastline including the iconic White Cliffs of Dover, good beaches and lonely windswept marshland. Inland you will find orchards, hop gardens,traditional pubs, woods and farms. Wildlife abounds and there are many nature reserves offering opportunities to see some of the rarer flora and fauna which inhabits the region.
If you are interested in the region's history you will find some of the finest castles , stately homes and churches including the two oldest cathederals in England.There are many literary associations too. Charles Dickens lived and wrote in Rochester and Broadstairs, Jane Austen visited East Kent and the Weald and H E Bates lived at Goudhurst.
The area's industrial and maritime heritage also adds its own interest, the building of barges and warships on the Medway and the gunpowder mills at Faversham are examples.
