We are a small family business growing soft and top fruit at two farms, Broomfield and Foxendown, in the village of Meopham, Kent. Meopham lies in the North Downs, approx 12 miles south east of the Dartford Crossing. Click here for map of Meopham or on the postcode at the foot of the page for an interactive version.
We grow a range of soft-fruit and top-fruit. Gooseberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and currants are available in the summer and a variety of apples, pears and plums in the autumn. Click here for seasons.
UPDATE 24th July 2010
After a slow start due to the cold weather for much of June the season has started to race by. Soft fruit such as raspberries and currants are available for 'Pick Your Own' but we will pick to order subject to availability.
Strawberries have now unfortunately finished.
Gooseberries have also finished.
Black and red currants are available at both Broomfield farms with some very nice fruit at the moment. These should continue for another two weeks.
Raspberries are also available at Foxendown and Broomfield farms. Fruit size is a little smaller than usual mainly due to the lack of rain. Also the hot conditions are causing some of the fruit to shrivel which is disappointing but there is still some good fruit to be picked. Production from the summer fruiting varieties will start to decline in the next week or so but production from the late fruiting varieties will start increasing. Raspberries should be available well into September.
Sunberries and Loganberries and Blackberries are available at Foxendown. Sunberries are near the end of their season and the Blackberries are just starting.
Plums. The variety of 'Herman' is now ready for picking. It is available for PYO at Broomfield farm or ready picked at either farm. This variety should last another 7-10 days.
Vegetables
Courgettes & Marrows are now available ready picked at both Foxendown and Broomfield farms. Supplies are becoming very plentiful with this continuing warm weather.
Runner Beans. We have now started picking small quantities daily at Foxendown farm and the quantities should increase during the coming week. The beans at Broomfield farm are further behind and probably won't be ready for picking for another two weeks.

Pork
